So who all is watching the Superbowl tomorrow? I will probably watch some of it, would like for the Colts to win only because Chicago beat New Orleans and took them out. Went and saw the movie "Because I Said So" today, it has Diane Keaton in it and was really funny. It did remind me of some of my parenting (skills???) of getting to involved with my kids lives and trying to protect them from getting hurt by love or trying to pick someone else that I think is better for them then they have picked. You know some of us moms that think we always know best and the funny part is my son took Jerry and I. Well he invited me and I invited Jerry. But did I leave pledging to myself that I would not get involved with Michael's love life or Matt's or Lacy's for that matter?? No I did not. I still have this false belief that my families life would fall apart if they didn't have me around to run it for them. Anyway if you get a chance go see the movie and see if you see yourselves in it.

A True Texan

After having dug to a depth of 1000 meters last year, Scottish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 1000 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Scots, in the weeks that followed, English scientists dug to a depth of 2000 meters and shortly after headlines in the UK newspapers read: "English archaeologists have found traces of 2000 year old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a thousand years earlier than the Scots."

One week later, Texas newspapers reported the following: "After digging as deep as 5000 meters in West Texas, scientists have found absolutely nothing. They have therefore concluded that 5000 years ago Texas inhabitants were already using wireless technology."

Hope you enjoyed it.

Hey ladies how ya doing? Every one is well here but I am sorta taking a break from blogger for a little while. Jerry is on vacation until Jan. 2nd so I probably won't be on here a whole lot until after then. I hope every one has a very Merry Christmas and a most Happy New Year.

kids still sick

Well I tried to send the kids to school today. Michael got Matt halfway there and had to pull over so he could throw up, then coming home he had to pull over twice more. Matt hadn't been throwing up so that is new. He slept most of the day, got up for a few hours, seemed to be feeling better, ate, played on his computer but has gone back to bed now. Lacy got to school and was there for about an hour and the school called, she had a fever so we went and got her and she also slept most of the day. They both seemed fine when they left the house this morning but we will try again tomorrow. Didn't get much of anything done today because I was tired and Jerry didn't feel real good so we just napped off and on also. Had soup for dinner tonight.

Well here is a picture of our tree, don't know why it looks like it doesn't have any lights on one whole side cause the lights are all over the tree. It is tall, tomorrow I am going to take one and get Jerry to stand next to it so you can see how tall it is. The stockings are hung, the lower one is for Christy, she won't be over here Christmas morning anyway and we didn't have enough hooks to hang another stocking. I got the cats some tiny little stocking that I will figure out where to put and we will put little cat snacks in them. Usually we get them a lot of new toys but they don't play with the toys as much anymore and still have a basket full so this year they are getting a new scratching post and probably a climbing tree. They had a climbing tree at the old house and loved it but it was really getting worn out when we moved so we threw it away.

Gee I can't believe how fast the days are going, I still have a few gifts I need to get out and buy so I better get busy tomorrow which means I need to head on to bed.
