Nail In The Fence
I really like this a lot and thought I would share it with ya'll this morning and then it is off to my day of errends. NAIL IN THE FENCE There once was a little girl who had a bad temper. Her mother gave her a bag of nails and told her that everytime she lost her temper, she must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the girl had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. She discovered it was easier to hold her temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the girl didn't lose her temper at all. She told her mother about it and the mother suggested that the girl now pull out one nail for each day that she was able to hold her temper. The day passed and the young girl was finally able to tell her mother that all the nails were gone. The mother took her daughter by the hand and led her to the fence. She said, "You have done well, my daughter, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a person and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say "I'm sorry", the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole in your fence. |

I like that too but it reminds me of me. It's bad! I have a terrible temper especially since I went thru the change.
Dot I can't even imagine you having a temper. At WH that time you seemed so quite and shy. Tina does your mama really have a temper???
Tony would say YES!!!!
But Tony is a man, he doesn't really count. All men think all women have a temper when it is really them that make us have a temper. Ha ha ha!!!
I've read that before, but it's been a long time. Thanks for the reminder.
And thanks for visiting my blog.
Clemntine I really enjoyed your blog and will be back.
That was a really good story but I dont want to talk about tempers!!! LOL!!
Hi Mouse! Thanks for visiting my blog. The watermelon cookies look great. Will have to try them!
I just don't know if I could receive a nicer compliment than the one you gave me. . .other than my little boy missing me in advance. :) Thank you for your honesty on the other blog and for coming to visit mine. Please, come again SOON.
Mouse, I'm commenting on the comment you left on my blog about a comment left on clemntine's blog - LOL! Thanks, I appreciate your words. The things you mentioned are what I'm doing already, so that helps chase away those doubts that I should be doing something more. :)
We are very much focused on healing, moving on, and trying to be who God wants us to be :)
Thanks for visiting my blog.
So nice to "meet" you.
Hey Mouse, I found your site through a comment you left. I also left you a comment on Boomamas site because I didnt know you had a blog. I have been in prayer for you. I enjoyed your blog and loved what you wrote today I related with it and had never heard it before.
Have a great day.
This was a very helpful and wise writing on this persons part.
Thank you for sharing it!
Tina now I know you and your mom don't both have a temper, that would make for one hot house growing up. Thankfully Lacy is the only one in our family with a real temper and she is learning to control it. The rest of us can lose our temper from time to time but it is seldom.
lori, paulette, roxanne, and brenda thank you all for stopping by.
melanie if you try the cookies let me know what you think. I think they are pretty more than anything.
